The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce & Industry, in celebration of the Mandaue Business Month 2012 with the theme” Staying Ahead of the Game” will hold the One Cebu Business & Sustainability Summit on August 9, 2012 from 8:30am until 5pm at the Cebu International Convention Center.

The Executive Director for Brand Strategy of Interbrand Singapore, Mr. Jonathan Bernstein is among the resource speakers of this year’s Summit who will talk about Destination Branding.

Mr. Bernstein is responsible for managing, building and providing strategic consultancy for Interbrand’s key client relationships in South East Asia. With over 15 years of marketing and branding experience in Europe, North America and Asia, Jonathan brings a decidedly global perspective to his work. Jonathan collaborates with Interbrand’s creative and strategy teams to foster holistic thinking and identify meaningful brand building opportunities for clients. It’s that holistic thinking that promotes necessary differentiation that builds and sustains culturally relevant brands.

Since relocating to Asia in 2007, Jonathan has helped develop strong and meaningful brand strategies, from positioning, architecture and messaging, through activitation and experience for leading companies across the region, including China Unionpay, ICBC, Axiata, Café Coffee Day and CT Corpora. Prior to joining Interbrand, Jonathan worked as a strategist with Faith Popcorn’s BrainReserve, a consumer insights firm in New York City, where he developed branding and innovation platforms for some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Colgate, Pepsi and Philip Morris / Marlboro. He has also worked with Landor in Hong Kong and with Gillette’s Global Business Management Group in Frankfurt, Germany.

Meanwhile, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will discuss about Staying Ahead of the Game:Lessons on Governance, the Cebu Experience. Other invited speakers in the Business Summit include ABS-CBN’s Chairman & CEO Mr. Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III who will talk on Creating Long Term Competitive Advantage Over Your Main Competitors; Ms. Jacqueline Alexis Thng, CEO of Lexis Branding, and one of Asia’s most experienced brand strategists and consultants; Mr. Gordon Alan Joseph, President of Cebu Business Club will touch on Mega Cebu: Forging Ahead thru Planning and City-Region Collaboration.

Professor Enrique Soriano and Professor Daniel Barrenechea both from the Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business are among the resource speakers as well. Professor Soriano’s topic is Differentiate or Disappear!, while Professor Barrenechea highlights on Marketing 3.0.

The Business Summit is held in partnership with the Provincial Government of Cebu and the City of Mandaue. Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes will welcome the participants while Businessman Bunny Pages will act as host to the event.
